Since the information is used as personal reference and not to apply for a new line of credit, this is known as a soft inquiry and soft inquiries do not impact your credit score.
Providing your Social Identification Number (SIN) is completely optional for signing up. We ask for the SIN as it is a unique way to identify our members and assists in getting your credit files.
